Tips on how to choose drum set

January 23rd, 2014

My hubby, who is the band director of Messiah Band, Spectrum Band and Gen-ex Band of our church is now completing his list of musical instruments and tools to be upgraded this year. On top of the list is the Drum Set which has been with us for more than 20 years.

Looking for a cheaper yet durable drum kit is exciting and challenging. Impulse buying is not going to get us a good drum, thus we need patience and research . A set with Eight pieces with extra Hammerax cymbals and percussion items would be great. I got this tips on how to choose drum set :

1. Get your drummer friends advice
2. Think twice before buying drum set based on your favorite drummers’ preference
3. Get comfortable with the drum set and listen to what sounds you like and what sounds you’re missing
4. Test a variety of drum set at your local drum shop, remembering to be cautious of how accurate the sound is while in the acoustics of the drum shop.
