Food Chain or Vending Machine Business?

September 7th, 2010

I chatted with my sister-in-law last Saturday and she told me to look for a possible franchise business here in the Philippines. She wanted to invest her hard earned money in the U.S. so that when it’s time for her to retire she will have an ample financial reserve. It’s part of her long -ranged plan. She suggested Jollibee Food chain so I asked some friends in the business world for advise. I have learned that Jollibee franchise ranges from P 15M to P30M (USD266,445.00 to USD532,890.00)… whew! What a big investment!

Another friend suggested a vending business. He said that these days almost anything can be sold through a vending machine like Soft-drinks in can, candies, gum, hot or cold coffee, tetra packed juice, cigarettes and toiletries. It’s the only business that require you to put in very little time and effort . All you need are the vending machines , the products and the strategic place to put up the machine. Overhead cost like manpower, water and electricity are eliminated.

I researched online about vending machine business and I was redirected to Planet Antares Scam, a site that helps interested investor not to get scammed in the vending business. Planet Antares is site is full of helpful tips and news to make you aware of what to look out for in the vending machine business. I also looked for Vending Forums site site . A vending community where vital information on how to succeed in the business are shared . I have learned so many things from the posts of its members. The site will offer full length vending ebooks and other tools such as cost projection spread sheets and income statements.

I guess this business is good for my sister-in-law. What do you think about this? Do you have any other suggestions?
