A visit to Farmville ….

April 29th, 2010

Last week, we visited our farmland for the second time. This parcel of land was bought by our dad more thirty years ago. It was rented by a very big company producing Pineapple products. You might wonder why we have just visited it twice. While our parents are still alive, my brothers and I were just living carefree lives. Our family enjoys the benefits of receiving a large amount of the rental from that farmland annually. We felt secured knowing that we can be assured of receiving that yearly rent and then be given allowances ourselves. We didn’t care to visit the farm site and see the vast area of planted pineapple. That was what happened until my mom died. As the assigned administrator to all our properties, I handled the bulk of working and sorting out the bundle of pertinent papers for our farmland. When we visited the site, we were amazed to see the potential of the area that was considered as non-arable by the company who rented our farm.

Now, we are planning to start farming this year… but we have to buy first a 4 x 4 vehicle. We are praying for more financial blessing to come up with the money. A pick-up truck with a cargo liner would be ideal. Praying it will be realized soon.
